New Year Excitement!

Wow, I can’t believe it is 2013 already!  2012 was gone too fast. However, I am very excited about what a new year brings, and for Faithfully Fun I hope it brings lots of new opportunities and many new creations!

One new item that was originally not going to be revealed until this year, but that several people received a sneak peek of around Christmas is the new Mommy/Nana necklaces!  They are so much fun to make and personalize!  Here is a small sample of some I finished around the holidays!

I really enjoy them and have loved the orders I have received so far. Being able to create something adorable and special for each mom and grandma!  The feedback from everyone has been so encouraging!

There are so many new items I hope to add to the line ups this year and I hope you will follow me on Facebook and Twitter so you are sure not to miss any of them!

May God bless you and yours in this new year.

Creative Thinking

I love creativity. I love making things, anything crafty. I love that I see that same quality in my children. In this house it seems someone is always making something!

This week I have made final preparations for my last craft show appearance of the year. Once again checking over my items, my inventory, and making anything new that I can. I get so excited and love working with my ribbon and hot glue! I love making things that make others smile, especially kids, and that is part of what makes Faithfully Fun so, well, Fun!  I love the smiles on the little faces when they see each piece, especially the characters when they recognize what they are. (That also makes me feel like I did a good job if they know who it is supposed to be!)

This week two of the characters I focused were inspired by well-known books, Alice & Dorothy!

There will also be my Faithfully Fun Friday post on Nanahood.com later today about these fun woven headbands that were just too cute not to make! :)

While you are there, be sure to check out the super fun giveaway based on the new Billy Crystal & Bette Midler movie “Parental Guidance.”  You can find it here.

Life’s Busy Season

For a really long time now I keep planning for things I will do when things here at home slow down a bit. When we get past this, I will have more time. Well, this week has a lot going on, when things slow down I will be able to…. (fill in the blank here.)  I am beginning to think things just are not going to slow down and if there are things I want to get done, I am going to have to make time for them. I am starting to think “life’s busy season” isn’t so much a season, as its own decade!

I often remember of one of my favorite bible stories, found in Luke chapter 10, when Jesus comes to the home of Mary and Martha.  As much as I want to say I would have the heart of Mary, that I realize the importance and need for sitting at the Master’s feet, I feel that if I am honest with myself I am afraid I would be Mary.  I tend to always find some “busy-ness” to be about.

I have placed so much on my plate again that I am afraid I am pushing to the side the most nutritious parts until sometimes it feels as though they are barely hanging on the edge. I have realized if I want to find more peace and calm in my life I am going to have to slow down enough to spend the time listening to my Lord instead of busying my hands with so much work. I am going to have to focus on Him, instead of being distracted by everything else around me. Once I put things in the right perspective, the rest will get done and if it doesn’t, as my husband says, in one hundred years it won’t matter anyway!  But in one hundred years my relationship with my Lord will still be all that has ever mattered!

I realize that right now it is not a big problem. That right now, it seems managable, I may run myself ragged and feel so tired I can sleep standing up, but I can see into my future (well, I wish but for now I can imagine) that if I don’t learn to say “no” to some things, I will lose my ability to say “yes” to the best things!  So I am going to learn to say “no” to that tv show, so I can say yes to extra time reading His word.  I am going to say “no” to that extra few minutes on Facebook, so I can say “yes” to a few extra minutes of cuddle time with the kids before bed.  I am going to look for other things that I can say “no” to, so I can have more time to say “yes” to the better things in life!

So tomorrow as I prepare for another busy weekend, I promise myself to make the time to say “Yes” to time alone in prayer, to time listening to my shepherd lead me through the distractions.  Won’t you join me during “NO”vember!

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42

Faithfully Fun News

Ok, that title may make this sound a little more important than it really it, but I can’t help it, I am so excited.  So much is going on right now for my little kitchen table company and I love it.  In two weeks I will set up my items at a Holiday Bazaar/Craft fair.  Although I won’t get to stay there all day personally, my dear Mama Robin is going to finish the day for me!  I hate to miss the show but it is for a good reason (I mean your nephew only turns the big 1-0 once!)

I have so many new items in the works for that show. I am hoping to continue to spread the word about my ribbon business!  If you will be in the Bowling Green, KY area on November 3, from 9am-2pm come by and say hi at Warren East High School! (Picture is from recent show set up at Jackson’s Orchard Childrens Day!)

Then in December I will be setting up for yet another bazaar.  I love it, I would sign up for more but I don’t want to over extend myself. It takes so long to make the items (especially with three kids who constantly need something :)   I am afraid to put myself out for more than I can handle.

A couple other big changes for Faithfully Fun are in the works as well.  For starters, I am now on Twitter!  Oh my, yes, I know, taking a big leap into the world, but I think its about time! (he he he)  Please check out the box on the sidebar and follow me!

I am also starting to build my Etsy store! I only have a few items up but am planning on getting my new items up as soon as I can!  I appreciate everyone’s support you have shown so far and I ask for your continued prayers and support as I continue on.

Please continue to stay tuned her and to Nanahood.com.  This Friday will be the last giveaway for the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month).  I am so happy with the responses I am getting from this and even more thrilled that I am able to do even a small part to help raise awareness so this monster can be beat for good!

Be sure and follow Myhouseandme, as well as Nanahood, so you stay up to date on the giveaways that will be taking place in November and December!  It is almost as exciting to give things away as it is to win (almost!) :)

Thanks for letting me share my “news” with you! Be sure and follow me for future updates!

Have a great week and God Bless!

Faithfully Fun is Thinking Pink

I have been so happy this month to be focusing on Breast Cancer awareness with Teresa at Nanahood.com!  Nanahood is blogging pink until there is a cure but for the month of October it is like pink on steriods! Everything is about getting the word out there, getting the focus on awareness and doing anything we can as indiviuals to help find a cure!

I am trying to help do my small part to get the word out there this month.  Each week in October, through my Faithfully Fun Fridays posts we are giving away a new Think Pink creation.  The first week was the Think Pink Heart.

The response was wonderful.  Thanks to sales from this pin after the giveaway Faithfully Fun was able to make its first donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure though the Nanahood team!  I am so happy to be able to do even  a little bit to help others with what they are struggling with!

Last week the pin given away was the Pink Ribbon Butterfly.  Again these are now for sell and a portion of each one sold will go straight to breast cancer research through her team.

If you are interested in how you can help please be sure and visit Nanahood.com today!  If you would like one of these pins for yourself or for a family member please send me a message or find me on our Faithfully Fun facebook page!  The heart pins are $6 each and the butterfly pins are $8.

Be sure and follow Nanahood.com so you won’t miss a moment of the Think Pink drive! Check back this Friday for my new post and to see the new design that we will be giving away and what you can do to win!  I really appreciate all the support everyone has shown and hope in some small way we are showing all those out there who are suffering from this monster that we care!

Thank you!
